i was just about to post about him. very Bernard Edwards influenced sounds on that record, and just a killer player. some of that bass work is off the charts. @Dr. Cheese would love this stuff

I couldn’t wait. Dude is awesome the sound he gets on that fretless Stingray is a sound that has been in my head for years. I tip my hat to talented musician! Cheers!
I am disappointed; he did not play the fretless on his latest album.
I just discovered Donny this week and have checked out most of his music videos. Can't get several tunes out of my head now, fantastic. Loooove his tone, and as a fellow Stingray player, I had to play along with a few. So much fun!

I have had Donny Benét on my playlist rotation for the past month or so, can't get enough of his music. Found out 2 weeks ago that he's been doing these bass tutorials on YouTube, I have since been watching them everyone week. Not only they are entertaining, I am actually learning something from them as well.
This guy really knows how to utilize his basses and play to each's strength, first week was a MusicMan Fretless, followed by a headless Steinberger clone and now a Maton hollowbody with a killer picked flatwound sound. What's next?!?

I just found Donny’s music and vids recently, as well. Love em all. The grooves on “Santorini” slay!
I've had more fun listening to Donny than anything else in the past decade. I'm a huge fan of 80's synth-driven music.
Talkbass, and @Dr. Cheese in particular, take the place of the analog era filters I grew up with ... Music Television and Video and all the truly epic print mags ... in telling me what’s good. THIS funky guy, Mono Neon, Thundercat ... all HERE on TB. Not to mention filling numerous musical gaps of mine for truly epic 20th century funk/fonk/etc.
I haven’t had Instagram/Facebook/Twitter in over a year. If I can get a good crime novel thread going I won’t need anything BUT TalkBass
