Don't need it, but should I get it anyway???

I currently have three bass guitars: a 2012 MIJ Geddy Lee, a 2014 MIM sea foam PJ passive, and a 1993 Peavey Fury.

While rooting around this weekend I found a Chinese Fender Modern Player Telecaster Bass. It is the butterscotch model with the bridge and neck humbucker style pups.

The deal is that I have a mid 2000's Schecter C1 Plus six string electric guitar the guy would take in on trade, but he wants $100 boot on top of the deal. I rarely play the Schecter, and they don't seem to hold resale value that well; but it is a good guitar in mint condition.

So I guess my questions are: will the Tele bass give me anything I'm not getting from the above mentioned, would this seem like a reasonable trade, should I hold out for something different.

I've always liked the way they looked, but how do they sound?
They go for $500 to $600 used, right?
I'd do it.

I've listened to a few clips on YT through my hi-fi system. They've got a lot of low-end punch, but I haven't made the trip to check it out in person.

Used value, I have no idea. I thought they were $500 new a couple of years ago.

One on Reverb for $550. I was thinking about buying one last year for $599.

If you rarely play the Schecter then trade it for something you will play. I have owned basses over the years that although they played nice and sounded great, they just didn't work for my playing or sound.

A bass that you will play is worth a lot more than a bass that sits in the corner.

Economy is in the hole, rabbits live in holes.... Maybe carrots are a "sound" investment?
