Agree there will be 1 or 2 bad apples amongst the production lot. A given. But what makes a good product and a good organization is the service support. They know the math too - the bad apples. They should be prepared to ensure their customers are getting what have been promised, and solve the problem, and solve it fast.
I had bought pedals from USA (I am from Singapore). One of them is "3 Leaf Audio". When I wrote to the owner, Spencer, about the problem I have had, he asked that I courier the pedal to him. I paid for the courier charges from Singapore to USA. He repaired the pedal and sent it back to me at his cost, all within 2 weeks.
This is customer service at its best. Because of such exemplary after sales attitude, by word of mouth, and via Talkbass, "3 Leaf Audio" and Spencer's reputation as a reliable and responsible organization is 2nd to none. Gallien Kruegar is way way beyond such service spirit. They and their Singapore dealer took 3 months, yes, 3 months to repair my GK 800 MB Fusion at 1/4 of the retail price of the amp head (after warranty). I wrote to Jason of GK, he referred me back to the local dealer, and ignored my subsequent emails. 3 weeks upon collecting my amp (after the 3 months wait), there was another problem. I sent it back to their singapore dealer. That was 5 weeks ago, and I am still waiting for their advice.
