Hi Guys,
I've been working flat out for a while now on my new online double bass lessons. Check them out here: https://www.youtube.com/user/DiscoverDoubleBass

They are mostly jazz and there is a lot of beginners lessons, but I hope to broaden the range of content as I go on.

Here is some playlist I set up so you can have see what there is: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCUXgtLdATSU6LQLd6Qlp0bQ/videos?feature=guide&view=1

I would love any feedback you have, good or bad.
Hope you enjoy them,

Geoff

Geoff-- you have a wonderful relaxed, clear teaching style. I've only started looking but plan to dig deeper. I'll likely be posting other comments that I hope will be helpful to you. Thank you for doing this!

Thanks Craig and Les, I'm glad you like them.

I'm really hoping to get some ideas about what lessons to do in future so if you have any suggestions I would love to hear them! Im planning on releasing a new lesson every couple of weeks.

Cheers Geoff

Hey Geoff,
Awesome site and videos! I just picked up my first double bass and really feel like your videos and info will help me get started until I get get an (in person) teacher.

One suggestion... you may want to consider a having a log-in for users to access the "members only" materials. I've put in my email address and it still asks for it on every page.

best,
john.

It's great they are helping John!

I dropped you a pm about the downloads page, but re-entering your email will get you there without re adding you again to the list. Or bookmark that page.

Good luck with your practice and have a great weekend!

Hey guys, just to let you know I have a new lesson out today. It's about how to use the neck heel to play across the fingerboard, rather than just moving up and down the G string. This really helps with intonation issues in the middle of the neck.

There's also a pretty easy blues piece in there to give you something fun to practice the technique with.

I hope you enjoy it.
Cheers Geoff

Great Geoff,

I like your lesson #16 a lot, particularly the excersizes, developing the timing. Your intro this this lesson is awesome. Hope you will be able to give some more lessons on right hand timing with the metronome.

Keep up the good work Geoff!

I'm really glad you liked that one TonyD. Todays new lesson looks at some of the harmonics in that line. I really should do a lesson with explaining the whole thing.

I also have a couple of right hand lesson coming up looking at ghost notes which you might be into and I will do some more with a metronome when I next do some filming.
Cheers Geoff
