Just filled it out. My problem physically has always been tightness/cramping in my left forearm, which happens almost every time I play and no amount of warming up can fix it. It’s something I can usually get past after about a half hour of playing. I absolutely know that it is a technical problem that I’m working through on my own now during the pandemic. I am going to address proper left hand technique with a good teacher once it’s safe to do so.

PLEEZE tell me the survey is named "Pain In The Bass"...
(Most of my DB Pain has been Psychological and Self-Inflicted, FYI/TMI.)

Done. Thank you for taking an interest. Wonder if it might be illuminating if you further asked the arco players whether they play French or German bow?

I knew I could count on you, Don.

My primary pain is in my EARS.

Caused, no doubt, by bad intonation, bad tone, bad gigs (when I used to have gigs).

And now, back from the derail.

My only comment is that, with the survey geared to a single major medical issue in my playing, it's tough to pick the one that is "predominant".

With me, there have been several different, relatively serious issues over elbow, tendonitis in my wrists, pulled muscles in my shoulders/back, and now arthritis in my hands.

I guess if you stay at it long enough, its like this Gahan Wilson cartoon:

Good research and well-designed survey. You should post the survey in other venues besides talkbass. There's a lot more traffic on several double bass facebook groups.
