Double Entendres

What do you mean “discovered”?; I’ve known about this stuff for decades.

So have I. But at some point we both had to have discovered it, even if that happened decades ago. I was giving you a kudo because I have run across so few people who *have* discovered it. If you had posted just a couple of links I would have figured you had just blundered into the songs, a lucky find. But since you racked up so many links, that told me you knew about the genre.
 
Jazz, or “Jass” music, gestated(no pun intended)in the brothels of New Orleans, literally the ‘house music’, and drew from Ragtime, Blues, and N.O. Second Line horn bands. The Jass/Jazz part could have derived from “Jezabel”, slang for fallen woman, or possibly a derivation of, well, just substitute an ‘i’ for ‘a’, and you get the idea.
I htiought that was supposed to be more to do with Jasmine perfume worn by the ladies.
