Hey folks.
I'm setting up a board to switch between DB and Bass VI. I've got a pretty good idea of what Im going to put together, but I'd love to see how you guys set up your bass switching boards for inspiration.
My plan for now is Bass VI into drive, trem, and delay into channel one of the Tonebone Bassbone. Upright bass straight into channel two of the Bassbone. Bassbone out to tuner to mute all channels, to MB200/Avatar B115.
I'll post pics as soon as I have it together.

I haven't trialed this yet but I'll hopefully be using it in a few months for a theatre show.
Electric bass----->LS-2 (into return A and out send A)------>OLC Flipster------>Channel 1 of Headway EDB2
Upright with pickup----->LS-2 (into return B and out send B)------>Channel 2 of Headway EDB2
I'll also connect a tuner pedal to the OUT on the LS-2.
The EDB-2 will send to the FOH (via the XLR) and a monitor for me (via the line out).

EDIT: After a trial I have realised that this doesn't work. I'll try a new combination and report back. May need to just use separate DI's.

Finally got some pics of my rig!
Just as planned, the board goes SFT, Pareidolia, Montavillan into channel one of the Bassbone. Upright straight into channel two. Bassbone to tuner, to amp.

Got to try it out at practice last night. It works pretty well. Switching between the two is nice and easy. But I'm not as happy swith my electric sound in this setup. More about that in another thread.

Nice looking setup!!

No pics, but I use an Acoustic Image Clarus into one or two 1x12 cabs... Electric goes straight into the input, upright (or Kala U-Bass) goes into a Fishman Platinum Pro, then back into the head via the effects return... Essentially two channels. Since I don't have to switch quickly, I just use the gain and effects level controls to "switch"... Would love a ToneBone, but less-is-more when it comes to me and pedals :D

Current version of my doubling board. Electric goes through one wireless, into the HBE Bajo Mos clean boost, the Boss OC-2, the MXR Bass Fuzz Deluxe, then ch 1 of the VT Deluxe, which is set for 3 different electric tones. Upright goes through the MXR 6-Band EQ into ch 2 of the VTD, but I bypass the VTD now that I have the 6-Band. I do have a sound programmed for the upright in the VTD, but with upright I like it getting full range to the PA and the VTD has a speaker sim. The VTD then goes out to the tuner, but I think I may experiment with using the tuner in the VTD's loop instead. I'll have to see how big a PITA it is first, though.

And no, I'm not trying to use two heads into one cab.

I love my Michael Pope MPP2 pre for doubling gigs. Sounds terrific on upright and pretty good on electric. I tend to use some sort of 'always on' pedal in front of the electric to give the sound more grunt. There's a 31 band graphic eq in the effects loop of the upright channel. Only use it if I need to. On bigger gigs I bring my Reiner 6SL7 tube pre in for electric. The upright wasn't in the shot but it's hiding off to the left :)

Yeah I could see that. I only double on jazz gigs where the amp settings don't really change so it isn't a big deal for me. Definitely wouldn't work for everyone though.

I have used a Boss LS-2 or an EBS Microbass II which lets me have both basses connected and switch over by stepping on a footswitch, but usually I just use the same amp and pedalboard, mute using the tuner, switch cables, unmute. I also have a small K&K Pure Preamp clipped onto my EUB, with volume and EQ, so I can adjust a bit there for differences in sound and level.

What "always on" pedals have you used in the past, what's your current fave or is it more of a pedal du jour/what I'm in the mood for today sort of thing?

I have a Mesa Flux Drive and a Way Huge Pork Loin. Both set very mild as I don't want dirt per se', just some edge. I'd like to try a Fairfield Barbershop or possibly even a VT pedal at some point. Kinda wishing I hadn't sold my Aggie TH DI now :(
