Nice to see a club for Douglas owners. The value of these instruments can't be emphasized enough. I own a Douglas 826NA strung with Carvin flats and I love it.

I've been enjoying the tone of mine so much that I'm thinking of getting another Pisces in white as well..... and converting it to a fretless. Of course, the Lil Killer would be added as well as a headstock reshape.
Replacing the pickup makes the bass 100 times more playable. The GFS is dead silenteven without any shielding.
I didn't redo the headstock because I don't have woodworking skills, or tools. I was considering make it a fretless, but with my luck I'd trash the fingerboard.
I want to play jazz and also I want a five string bass. Also, i want it to be active. 
Is there anything you guys recommend to me?
Boy - look at what you find when you just use the TB search feature! Fortunately, this thread isn't too zombie-fied (only 3 years) so here goes.
During practice last night the neck settled a hair on my WEB-846. Afterwards I shimmed it with a couple of thin washers and was back in business - with even lower action than before! I kid you not - this bass has THE BEST ACTION OF EVERY BASS I HAVE EVER OWNED!!!! That includes Steinberger, a Dingwall, Ibanez, Peavey (played a Cirrus that was about as good), G&L, and my current custom five string - among others that I have since forgotten about.
I know it, I probably sound like some nut hollering at the top of his lungs out on the street corner but I could care less. I'd like to find another one (or more) of these in any configuration (sixer, fiver) just to have. Forgot to mention - it sounds GREAT too!! It passed the 'big rig' test last night when I had it at band practice and was running it through my Mesa 400/Ampeg fridge. Sounded glorious.
Next I want another sixer so that I can convert it to a seven string. On my Purple People Eater six I'd like to replace the bridge (to get wider spacing) and tuners (better quality). A fiver would be nice to keep in drop D. The possibilities are endless!!! (Okay, getting a little carried away now...)
That said, what's my number??
