Quick question here. We're a 4-piece rock/pop cover band (vox, guitar, bass, drums) and we just upgraded our PA with larger FOH cabs and power amps. So we moved our old FOH speakers (2-way 15"/horn cabs) to duty as stage monitors. They work fine, but load in is a drag and I am looking to do a smaller, lighter box. Last night these monitors felt like major overkill. Plus I have to wedge something underneath them to change the angle so they are not beaming at our shinbones.
We are looking to move to a smaller 2-way 12" wedge, something like the Peavey PV12M. They don't need to throw tons of bass. My bass signal only goes into the monitor on the other side of the stage and we never have a problem hearing the kick drum (we usually play small stages).
Anybody move from larger to smaller monitors? Your thoughts and experiences?

P.S. Here's a snap someone in the crowd posted to facebook last night; you can see how they kind of overpower and take up lots of room. I used the covers to my rack case to change the angle of the wedge.
