i'm looking for a free downloadable eq so I can tuen up the bass in music I play online? the one on my lap top doesn't seem to function properly

What do you mean by 'tune up' the bass? Change the pitch? If so an EQ is not what you are looking for.

It can put some nice bark in your bass. BootEq from that same page does some good things too.

For some real bottom-end thunder, grab a "Pultec" style EQ, the trick with those is to both boost AND cut the bass with it. I like this one. Invalid Link Removed

Window 7 has VERY powerful EQ functionality. There are all the standard EQ controls plus one or two dozen environmental simulations that are terrific.
