Downsize.......

Ok, so downsized from an Ampeg VR to this Aguilar db750. Not exactly 'going lightweight' but half the poundage. Up to now, through my Berg NV215, its sounding (and feeling) great. Had a db680 a long time back and this is so far living up to the aggie tone, albeit with less mid control. I'm lovin the treble and Bright Switch, which are working really well with a passive CS Jazz and flats. First gig next weekend

I rented that amp a several years because of it's reputation. I couldn't get a sound I liked out of it. It sounded pretty much the same as my Mesa M-Pulse 600 that I didn't keep for the same reasons.
However I was told to give a try to the DB751 which I might like way better because of the different mid knob set higher.

If you use aggie amps use them with aggie cabs. Smacks ass in that combo, especially with the db series.

For my taste though I found out that aggie gear gives me a certain sound "compression" from the start that I find a bit too much for me. I do love my aggie db410 though, despite the "poundage". :D
