Downsizing bass collection is depressing

It is totally depressing thinking about how much I've downsized. Back in '07 I had over 10 basses:
Sadowsky UV70 jazz
MIA Jazz Deluxe QMT
MIA Jazz Deluxe
Ernie Ball SR5
Warwick Jazzman 5
Warwick Thumb 5 BO
MIJ '75 Reissue Jazz
Dean Edge Q5
Ibanez SR500
Custom 3ts jazz parts bass
Custom short scale jazz parts bass
Custom quilted parts bass

Due to family life and financial issues I'm down to my last 2 basses. Both are parts basses that have incredible sentimental value to me. I'm worried that soon, I'll sell my last two and be done for good...*sniff sniff*

Man that rough..sorry bro.

The more you have, the more you have to maintain.

And also more space to store. And when one has to sell from financial pressures, you sell the more valuable ones first, and by the time you are down to the last two parts basses usually they don't have the resale to be much of a financial help. My view is that even If I had to sell the last decent basses, music is part of life. And though I've switched things around for various years, I just can't seem to leave it for long periods of time. So today I think even if I had to unload my whole herd for money, SOMEHOW I'd try to retain an old SX or something even if I had to play it through headphones just to keep in touch with things. Otherwise I think it would leave a big empty hole in my life.

Brother, I hear you. A dozen years ago myself, I had a whole raft of basses including a $6k Fodera, $3k Modulus and a Ric (not to mention the rotating Warwick stable), generally 3 to 5 at a time plus a guitar or two... A few short years ago I was where you fear, not playing at all; My now-estranged wife bought me an inexpensive bass to get me back on the horse. I had a couple nice basses again in 2015, but...

Anyways, today I have one single bass, my Talman 30, which was $179 brand new. I dig it. It's not the greatest bass I've ever owned or played, but I like it plenty and might keep it even when I can afford to buy another axe again.

The fact that the ones you have are sentimental means you shouldn't let them go.

Good luck to you.
