Double Bass dpa mic

I don't think DPA 4099 is as good as the Neumann KM 185, ( I think nothing better than Neumann ), but cheaper, Smaller and could be less problematic.

Clay Jones is using this microphone when he performs with my son in the band, Mountain Heart. The mic is mounted on a D-18 or D-28 Martin styled guitar (sometimes it IS a Martin) and gets a good sound out of it.

The guitar can be almost as problematic in getting a reliable sound out front as an upright bass.

The entire band, with the exception of the upright bassist is using DPA wireless mics. They also are using in ear monitors, so no feedback issues arise from them trying to hear themselves. The bass man, Jason Moore, is getting what he wants with a Full Circle pickup run into a DI and then onto the PA.

I check at the Youtube! Yeah, Wonderful band, very nice music! I love it!
Yes, miking an acoustic guitar is as problematic as upright bass, mostly near the soundhole, but the in-ear monitoring, make it much easer.
