DR neon string does the color easily removed when i use pic on the string?

I used a set for a while and I really loved the sound.
At the time I was playing mostly finger style and even so the color chipped of in the area where I finger picked and here and there from fret wear. I didn't buy another set when I replaced them for that very reason...especially since these days I'm playing a lot more pick style.
Again, I really liked the sound and they look super cool too. Maybe if you change strings frequently this won't be a problem for you. I tend to put a set on and leave them for as long a time as I still think they sound good...which is a pretty darn long time.

I had a set that I bought at the end of last year, had the K3 coating on it. Here's my quick and dirty review:
The Good - Look really cool, especially under a black light. Sound great. They have that bright attack and clarity you'd expect from new DR strings. Classic round-wound grind.
The Bad - Coating chips away with pick use. It wasn't horrible, but up close you could see where the chips were. What was more noticeable was the build up of finger gunk, there's just no hiding it on Neon Orange strings. The coating is not comfortable to play IMO. I do a lot of slides up and down the neck, and the first one hurt like a %$#@. It got better as I played them more, but if you slide aggressively your fingers will have a little chat with you.
Overall - Fun strings that sound good. I got them with a gift card I had laying around just to see what they were like, but I personally won't buy another set. The burning sensation they gave my fingers were the deal-breaker for me.

No noticeable wear from constant pick use for the bass strings for me. at all. Ive been using neons since jan of last yr. Longest a set has been on a bass is just over 5 months. The guitar strings however show very quick coating wear off on the unwound strings.
