DR Neon's - What is your experience?

The stickiness on most strings is usually just residue from the manufacturing process and goes away after using them for a while. Get a little sweat on them and wipe them down after ever gig and the stickiness goes away. The same thing happens with some flats.
they were a bit "grabby" yes, and they aren't as bright as i like, they seemed a little
on the dead side to me (i think because of the coating.) but......they look really cool.
been using dr mm fat beams for awhile now. just today i ordered a set of circle k"s,

Mine have definitely started to feel better after breaking in, but man I hated em pretty bad at first. Its enough to make me not want to use them again.
They look great, the tone is 'useable' but nothing special. They sound fairly dull within a month or so.
They do seem to dull out pretty quickly.
Here's another tune I just did with the same bass/string set as above, just done a couple weeks later after some casual playing. You can hear the brightness is still there but not nearly as much as the other tune...

I LOVE Them! The Tone Is Phenomenally Superb! Absolutely Fabulous For Four Months. Sounds As Good As They Look!
Strings sound different on different basses-
sure would help to know which basses they sound great on, on which ones not?

I've used them on Ibanez 706, Peavey MIA Millennium Plus 5'er
passive 4 and active 5 string jazz basses.
They sounded great on all..BUT my 5 string jazz had no shielding so there was more hum unfortunately. To me the neon green I had on the Ibanez 706 sounded the best.

This is about what they are worth - looking at in the bathroom with just a black light.
Unless they have exactly the sound and feel you are looking for like no other, I find them silly, tacky toys that will never go on my professional instruments.
I know I sound snooty but c'mon, 'look Ma, my strings actually glow!"
Oh, BTW, DR Rare Phosphor Bronze do great things for an ABG - the brightness wears off and they actually sound like a bass. I also liked DR Long Necks on an Elrick I had once. So I do like DRs. Did I mention the ones I like don't glow in Sesame Street neon glow worm green?
I had black beauties on a parts jazz, then tried neons on a Warwick Thumb BO 5. Got pretty much the same results both times.
Do anyone know if the 4 string set will fit on a 35" scale bass?

I tried a couple sets of the guitar strings, but they started out pretty dead and quickly got worse, so I figured the bass strings would be similar. I don't like muted. But they look great.
I have a similar experience with these. I tried some out because DR sent us a few free packs here at my shop. They start off sounding dead and only get more dead from there. Definitely loved the looks, hated the tone.
