I got a 5 string set of these a couple of days ago. I gota say I like 'em. The original elixers that came on my Ibanez sr1205e were just too bright and too clanky. Put these on and presto. There is still a little clank but I hope it goes away with a little playing time. The tone is so much better.

I've been using these for the last year and I love them. I tried a different brand string a while back and couldn't get them off fast enough. They last and personally I love the tone.

The clank does dissipate pretty quickly IME, Sometimes I wish it wouldn't...

I have been a die-hard Hi-Beam fan for a few years but recently received a bass with Lo-Riders installed and am really liking them as well. Nice thing is that I was impressed before I knew what they were. Sort of a blind test before a previous owner filled me in. Could be the new fave.

these are definitely my favourite, i've been "D" tuning them. to D obviously. they are the first strings i have ever detuned. they have a little more slack than usual, but the only adds more capabilities.

Is the "B" and "E" string tapered on DR Low Riders and additionally do you know if they are on all DR Strings?

I don't think it is, (maybe "Longnecks") but I'm wondering how the action is after switching up strings.

LoRiders are not tapered.
