Drama with the drummer

He just texted me back a simple "Ok" message.
I´m starting to feel bad for him, he doesn´t have too many people to play with. But lesson learned, I´ll try not to be in that situation again, if possible.
Taking this kind of decission in a hurry was a bad idea.

I see something else here. I think the drummer is bummed with the bass player skills.
He didn't let the bass to play a solo (if the solo sucks, it sucks!) and he wants to express his feeling, which I guess, he wants the bass player out of the band.
This one was an interesting anecdote. I still don´t know why he did it (I don´t think he was jealous of my bass skills). More likely he just wanted to solo on that moment and didn´t care, or he was "angry at everything" that evening and he just wanted to pick a passive-aggresive musical fight to feel better afterwards.

Ouch, this is becoming a tough situation here!

Maybe it wasn't handled in the best way possible, but the outcome was inevitable.

Well, the negative things:
He allways told us that he felt really bad about people thinking that he is too loud because "it was like an insult". So we couldn´t mention that.

He had sometimes the fixation of doing fills (in my opinion simulating an ak-47) for one bar, every four bars obscuring the rest of the band.

Other than that he keeps time really well, knows a lot of different styles, has good technique and has a ton of energy. He is okish to get along well in person too. I like how he plays most of the time.
Edit
In one word, he is very unpredictable, musically speaking.

Honestly sounds like he needed to be out of the band anyways. Musicians should always take constructive criticism to get better, but sounds like he doesn't like that. I used to be that way once a long time ago (drummer of 16 years), and it never got me anywhere. When I let my ego go and just focus on getting better, that's when doors opened up.
