Endorsing Artist: PiGLET picks
Hey yall, this is probably a very strange thread, but hey its fun and i want to learn about the tastes of all u TB'ers (you yummy TB'ers lol). Anyway, if you were endorsed by a bass company and they gave you a signature bass, what would it be like? My dream bass will probably be hated by all of you cause i know im different  Anyway i chose fender for my bass

- Jazz body and neck
- 4 strings
- Rosewood finger board
- Pearloid pickguard (muahaha)
- Duncan quarter pounder p bass pup
- Duncan quarter pounder j bass pup - bridge
- Standard fender bridge (no string thru)
- 2 volume pots, no tone
- S-1 switch
- Hot pink paint job. Oh yeeeeah
- Everything else pretty much fender standard. Yea boring

I've been over this a coupla times, but I'll do it again, because I've slightly changed what I want it to be.

-Fender
-Jaguar 4-string, as always, except now it's actually possible :gasp:
-Flat black finish (to cut down on fingerprints...I hate fingerprints)
-Pink pearloid pickguard
-Maple neck and f/b with black blocks and binding (32" scale)
-Three chrome lipstick single coils (neck, mid, bridge)
-On/off rocker switches for each pup
-Tone/volume control

wow, how cool would it be for this to happen?

ok, My dream bass would be built by EBMM
6 strings
4 band EQ w/ sunken knobs (no control plate)
White Finish
Tort Pickguard
Schaller Tuners
MM bridge
SH pickup config.
Bartolini pups (one jazz and one MM)
Sterling Style neck
Black blocks and binding on a maple board
My sig on the 12th fret block
My anme on the neck plate

Wow, I now have major GAS for this...

Well, I hope Eb wants to endorse me when I become famous!

I think the only place I'd want my name to be would be on the back of the headstock, so that even folks who hated my music could play my bass without shame. Not that it really matters that much, but it kinda nags at me when a cool bass is sullied by some crap guy's name...(um...Mike Dirnt, anybody?)

Had two actually, a Warwick SSII5, and:

NT Thumb 5
Gloss black(or blue)
Chrome hardware
Blue LEDs in fretboard

That's in a perfect world of course, but a good ol Thumb 5 with the nice swirly Bubinga pommele would do just fine I'm sure...

I own my dream bass, except for the finish. It's a totally stock 1998 USA Jazz Bass. I put it up against any bass I have ever played, including many vintage basses and many ultra-expensive basses. But that hideous sage green metallic finish has to go! I only keep it because I don't want it to lose its future resale value.

My dream bass....

Made by an indavidual luthier, not a name brand company
It would be a 5-string, but keeping the fret board slim (nothing near any fender 5-strings, more like a spector)
Korina (African Mahogony) Body
Highly Figured Walnut top laminate & matching headstock
Mahogony neck
Brazilian Rosewood Fretboard
Pearl/Abalone Block Inlays
Agulair OPB-3 EQ w/ 5 knobs 1 Switch
Alembic active humbucker pickups
Gold Hardware
Recessed Straplocks

I've got it down it where I can see and hear it.

#4-stringer
#P-bass body style
#Alder body
#Ash or flame maple top
#Blueburst finish
#White perloid pickugard
#Wenge neck
#Rosewood fretboard
#24 frets
#All chrome hardwar
#D-tuner
#Graphite nut(1.5")
#Precision pickup neck/Dual jazz coil bridge
#Gotoh bridge
#V/V/T

Mmm...well I think I would want either a Warwick or Ibanez.

-5 string with pretty slim neck.
-Plain styled head an body (kinda like the SR Ibanez bases)
-Active Pickups
-Either a nice semi-dark redish stain(with gold hardware) or a deep blue (with black hardware)

But first I should start thinking about getting a amp not a dream bass. :p

I dunno, maybe Im crazy but....

Jazz neck
P body
Peizo bridge
MM pickup in its standard position.
Seymour Duncan Slit P pickups in its standard position.
3 way selector switch like on a sterling.
Active/passive switch.
Hipshot Tuners
Hipshot Bass X-tenders (for switching to drop D)
All natural finish.
And no pickguard...at all, just all natural.
(cant forget the straplocks)

I would want a way to be able to mix the P bass pickups and the musicman pickups kindof like on a jazz bass with the mid adn bridge pickup...Want to be able to switch Active and passive and have a 3 band EQ. I woudl also like to be able to have a knob that mixes the mix of the 2 pups with the peizo, so full is full peizo and none is all magnetic.

tell me everyone here dont want that....actually im about to hire someone to make that i got bad GAS now....i wish i had 10 thousand dollars to make it...

Rickenbacker 4003
Baby Blue (blueboy)
Maple fingerboard/black dots and SHAVED
Black Binding
Black and chrome truss rod cover
Black pickguard
Everything else chrome

and then i'd want the bass/treble controls blended in with each other and a couple of distortion nobs

An exceptionally 'post-punk' bass im sure you'd agree :D

My dream bass, something along these lines

Essentially the Fender Aerodyne body (Contoured Jazz body, black with white/cream binding), no control plate or pickguard

- J pup at the bridge
- Ibanez ATK style triplecoil bucker, half way between neck and middle possition (ie, right beside the J bridge pup)
- P pup between neck and middle position

- Dark chrome hardware
- Mini style tuners, i think they are called anyway, the ones on Ibanez basses, not fender style
- Monorail individual bridge saddles
- Black headstock
- Rosewood neck, only fretmarkings on the front at the 12th

- Bypassable preamp with volume for each pup, coil tap/switch for tripple coil pup, bass boost/cut, treble boost/cut, mid boost/cut, mid shift. [bass and treble controls share a stacked pot, as does the mid and midshift]
- Neutrik locking jack

:) someone make me that
