drilled "tone chambers"

for a while, bc rich was drilling holes in the top of their bodies and calling em tone chambers. do you think they actually made a difference in the tone? if i remember correctly, there were only 5 holes, drilled about an inch deep in specific locations

There may have been some method to their madness, who knows, I guess we'd have to try it on a bass to find out.
