Driving a hi-dollar car to a gig

I used to drive a 55 Chevy to gigs. But that was when you could buy a good used
55 Chevy for $150 bucks...which I did. And I felt like I was cheating the guy who bought it from me when I sold it for $175 .
Hey, that's like me only I drove a 54 Chevy last year of High School and first year of College. I sold mine for about $50 more than I paid for it to a band mate. It took a dump shortly thereafter. Bad blood, but no warranty.

If I had a hearse, preferably metallic firemist, or whatever the name of that metallic lavender Cadillac had in the early '60s was, I would drive a flamboyant car to gigs any chance I got. As it is, I show up in a van that was previously owned by the Department of Transportation and looks like something the government would own. It is either completely inconspicuous or a little sinister, depending on how you look at it.

In my world a car like that could well wind up stuck in a hole in the parking lot or at least high centered on the ruts at the entrance to the parking lot. :D

Not really a car fan but I do appreciate a nice looking ride of any kind. My secret guilty pleasure is lowriders. As a fabricator/painter/mechanic, the outrageous creativity and absolutely top shelf work that goes into some of them is mind boggling.
