Drop C Help!

My band usually plays everything in Eb but we have recently added some Drop D and even Drop C tunes. I have no problem with Drop D, but have found when I tune down to C the strings are so flimsy I can't even play them! I currently use Ernie Ball Hybrid Slinkys (45/65/85/105). What gauge strings does anyone suggest so that I will be able to play Eb down to C tuning?

I would use at least a .110, but I like light strings. A B is .135 or so(?)

I have them but haven't used them on a bass in a while. They seem to work pretty well for D standard or drop C.

the problem you have is the fact ur going from a half step down to basically a whole step down with the Eb dropped a step and a half, basically spaghetti strings as my drummer put it, your best option is to get a 2nd bass to use for Drop C in, using heavier strings won't be any good unless you get the tension while it is in Drop C, that's just my opinion and from expierience...when a strap lock pops out and you have to lend some1's bass that they've put into drop C from standard the strings knock against the pickups, the fretting is completely different and you have to adjust your playing style so that so don't get the clack of the pick ups, but yea that's just my opinion

Try a .115-.50 set. GHS makes one, and I've found it superb for Drop C.
