drop d tuning

i play and ernie ball mm 3 band.

my band plays in drop d. my question is about string gauge. my "e" and "a" strings are quite loud and deep, but i lose volume and cut with my "d" and "g" strings. i'm wondering if anyone else has this problem/situation, and what you may have done to even out your output?

I agree. Usually EB's are quite loud in the upper mids.

Another reason to own a P-bass, you can adjust the pickup for each string
