Dropped my Modulus Bass

Wow, thanks to everyone, this really helped me to completely calm down. My OCD is much better lately, but with a fall like this and a bass like this, it still triggers...

To answer some of your questions:

- I know putting a wall hanger in the plasterboard and not in the studs behind, it was a very bad idea. Did not have this problem in the previous apartment, but here, its just like there are no studs behind, or they are metal, I do not know. What I know for sure is, that this bass (or any bass) is not going on the wall anywhere in this apartment anymore. Already bought a nice flood stand.


- I checked it once again, there is absolutely no marks on the neck or fingerboard. There is a dent on the body (nothing that could not relatively easily be repaired) and a piece of plastic (from the plastic box) was stuck on one of the strings.


Also I have to say, this bass is amazing, bought it used a couple of years ago. It was made in 2008. Two years ago I managed to find a poor lane pickups on ebay and got them installed (instead of Seymout Duncans that were inside). Amazing string to string volume balance.

Unlike acoustic instruments, solid-body instruments are inherently indestructible. You really have to do something extreme to them for them to sustain significant structural damage, like run over them with a vehicle.

The only bass that has been damaged by my toddler was in a stand just like that, and he decided one day it would be fun to test to see if gravity was still in effect. Yep, still here! He can't yet reach the ones on the wall and I have the ability to lock the hanging arms if he starts to get too curious.

Paging @Tim Cole to tell you just how strong these necks are considering he used the neck off of one of Flea's stage SMASHED basses and mated it to a new body. I suspect the neck is more than fine! I have several CF necked basses and they are the ones that I trust the most for this kind of (accidental) abuse.

True story, and I still have all of that! The smashed bass as he left it will end up in an auction at Juliens in the future.
