I have a theory. I used to be a member of band which shall remain nameless..... they had a history before I joined of bassists not being willing to follow them on whatever crazy tangent they went off on.... music based or not. They sabotaged my predecessor's instrument badly and his cab....
I could see that being a punishment for a bassist they didn't like.

My first though was to put it in a good case and ship it up to "Dave's World of Fun Stuff" in Canada and ask him to figure out why it's not playing right.
