Contemplating a drum throne for practice.

Several times over the years I've been to a Sam Ash store and they have really nice chairs in the acoustic guitar room to sit on and play, never occurred to me that those are simply quality drum thrones with a Sam Ash logo on the seat.

Recently has been suggested by instructor to get a good practice chair. Office chair I have been using is pretty much wore out.

Those of you who are actually using a drum throne for practice - which models do you prefer and why?
Music stores inventory is pretty much depleted of any decent selection and I'd rather not ship several back and forth in the shopping process.

thanks

I’ve been using a Roc-n-Soc for many years. I like it because it’s stayed firm, and the rubber feet (which seem to disintegrate on any throne) are easy to find and replace. I don’t use a back rest.

thanks - I’ve been considering the
Roc-n-Soc with the tractor sear or Gibraltar has one that seems comparable. Also considering the split cushion design - my bicycle seat is like that and it really helps me when I rode in the MS-150 bike events.

This drum throne is the most comfortable practice chair I've ever sat in. I also use it as my desk chair. It was pricey at over $250, but well worth it. It's an Ahead Spinal Glide with back rest.
