Drummer did it again....smdh!

You know, I purposely did not tell her he was the reason why I was leaving. I felt if she wasn't going to take the initiative, then I'd just have to leave. I like having fun when I play. We all mess up from time to time but this dude is consistent on almost every song. Just frikkin' embarrassing!
I hear you!

Your mind was made up, so why try to inform someone who is aware of the problem who chooses to do nothing about it.

that bit has the big cymbal crash on the '2' instead of the '1' as i recall. always great with a drummer that can play that part properly; sounds awful when it is messed up. most drummers i've heard screw it up rush it. this guy was late, you say? oh vey...still, survival is good.
Section starts at 1:42 and the short drum roll is at 1:57. He came in around the 2:02 mark. He did the roll a measure late and then did it again a few measures later on an off measure. We had to compensate twice.

Why oh why does this woman continue to use this guy?!?! I printed out setlists in huge font yet dude kept asking what song is next! Dude...the song after the last song we just played!! WTH?! Screwed up several intros and royally screwed up Dreams (Fleetwood Mac). Coming back in after that little section after the first chorus, there is a short drum roll. Dude came in late and me and the keys had to scramble and try to fix it. The drum intro to Rock With You (Michael Jackson). Dunno what it was he did but it wasn't right! Singer was pissed. She's gonna let him have it for sure! I have already quit this band but had to finish out the last couple of bookings already on the books. I tell you, this is ridiculous and unprofessional on his part. He's been with her since last year. I came aboard in July. He was also supposed to dress up in either all black or with a blue shirt. Dude showed up in khakis and sneakers. GAH!! I survived the night.

How do you screw up "Dreams" - just about the easiest, most monotonous song EVER? Wow.

I feel your pain.
I too have 2 gigs left with one of the bands I'm in. I committed to these shows and will see them through.
Fortunately I'll be paid.
I'm just done with rhythm challenged guitar players gigging with full volume and pedals for every song from start to finish.
I'm sure I'll have fun at these 2 remaining shows but I'll be inviting no one to come see us perform. What does that tell ya.
This- I don't do "two guitar" bands anymore because of this. Don't ever need to hear another rhythm guitar doubling my bass line at an insane volume where I can't even hear a single thing I am playing.

This sounds exactly like a drummer I was in a band with a couple of years ago. I had to tell him mid-gig that I wouldn't babysit him anymore, the set list is right there so figure it out. He got better over time but there were a few gigs that the annoyance level was off the charts.

Can he read? I had a Staff Sargent that worked for me in Japan, he had 12 years of service and wanted to put one of his solders in for an award. I told him to write it up and forward to me so I could edit and get the award for her. He couldn't write. He was a computer operator/supervisor, I have no idea how he managed to survive for 12 years. I got him enrolled for reading/writing classes and interviewed him to write up her award.

Yeah, he can read but he has no idea how to function as a professional drummer. Not only does he not properly learn songs, he can't retain anything we rehearsed. Was a total waste of time rehearsing. The last few gigs we did, I printed out set lists and he would stick them in his pocket and pull it out after every song instead of taping it somewhere he can view it easily. When she eventually cans him, I doubt he'll ever play in another band outside maybe a church gig. He'd probably lose that gig too. SMDH!
