If I were going to rant, it would be about "guitarists". Particulary, tone prima donnas and playing too loud because they "couldn't hear themselves until they turned up."

Your right dude, I have my faults playing bass, if you develop those three important qualities no one will pat you on the back, but I assure you everyone will want to work with you. Peace

Dude I knew I was going to he **** on for starting thus thread. I agree with you , but all the good drummers, for obvious reasons are already working and they don't jump around like horny jack rabbits

a good drummer makes a great band good and a great drummer makes a good band great.

I've played with some real hamster heads over the years but did have the luck to play with 3 truly awesome guys that could play perfect meter with feel and add some stylish chops that weren't dominating the band...I guess restraint is the proper word. I actually just met a kid last night at guitar center and got his number because just hearing his groove I knew he had it. When I'm with a really good drummer I'm freed from the responsibility of carrying the meter, because we carry it together simultaneously....guys that waiver I feel like I have to "hold down the fort" or steer them into steadiness and it becomes a real buzzkill.
