Dual P pickup options

This schematic will get you pup1 / both series / both parallel / pup2 using a 2-pole 4-throw switch. A master volume and tone could be easily added.

In the single pup positions, the unused pup is shorted. To make the unused pup open circuited, delete the connections to the fourth throw on the first pole, and the to the first throw on the second pole.

So either I can use two 1/4#s or order another AlumaP... Think I'll wait on that till I get the first one I ordered (almost 2 months ago!) and see what I think of it.

So after talking to a few knowledgeable folks about pickup "hotness" I'm undecided on what pups to use. I'm pretty much sold on the Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder for the neck position, but the general consensus is that I should go with something "hotter" (or with a higher resistance as read across the inductor/pickup) for the bridge pup.

As SGD (Dave, I take it?) said, I can't realistically use the Alumatone P pup that's supposedly on it's way, so what should I go for? Again, growly and heavy on the lows, scooped mids, and fairly warm highs.

Opinions?

If the alumatones have an internal transformer, what is the impedance seen at the secondary? Does the transformer bring the impedance up into "normal" range, negating the problem?

I've always thought it would be cool to have a mm style pup except split each coil E / A and D / G.
i.e. have 4 coils: neck EA / neck DG / bridge EA and bridge DG. Except bridge pup is right next to the neck pup.

If you have them all on you have a mm (kind of). If you have neck EA and bridge DG you have a P pup and if you have bridge EA and neck DG you have a reverse P.

sounds like a sweet project. i would do 3 or 4, and if you do vvt, i would throw in a push/pull series/parallel. if you do vtvt, i would put a push pull on both the volumes, so you can have have one pup one , way, and the other another way. series/series, seires/parallel, paralell/series, parallel/parallel. sounds like a good way to add tone variations, without complication the controls.
