Duesenberg Bass Guitars

I can recommend the Starplayer bass. Medium scale. Humbuckers. Beautiful looking. I'm very happy with mine.

They're really well put together. I was very surprised with the amazing build quality when I happened upon mine in a second-hand music store in Dublin. Got a good deal on it too. A tad on the pricey side if you were to buy a new one but you gets what you pays for. So far so good tho'.

that's a beauty. just wondering though. their website says it's 30.3" scale which would make it a short scale.
I tried their D Bass a few weeks ago, very very nice sounding bass. It reminded me of a P somewhat but had a distinctive mids voicing.
It was finished beautifully and the build quality seemed first rate. My only quibble is aesthetic, in that there are far too many logos on the body and H/S.

These are assembled in Germany from Korean made bodies and necks...... 
Which IMHO seems expensive given the price.

I thought they were too pricey as well, at over $2k Canadian. But the fit and finish were superb.

I've just bought a Duesenberg Starplayer in sunburst from Europe, winging it's way downunder at the moment, so will be able to add my 2 cents worth to this thread once it arrives.

I bought mine used for $1000 less than that, which I think is a good deal. Not as good a deal as vin*tone's Mike Campbell sig price though - he did very well.

I got my used Starplayer for 1000 euro. It is less than a year old and doesn't have a scratch on it. Regarding pricing, to put things in perspective, I also got my new Fender PBass for 1000 euro in a sale here in Dublin. They usually go for between 1200 and 1500+ new.

I just spent the afternoon in the Rock Shop, they had this Duesenberg D-Bass in Sonoma Red: Invalid Link Removed.
It has tone AND midrange knobs, all passive. I was trying to get my Jamerson/reggae on through a Glockenklang, but I think I was just disturbing the rest of the customers

There was also a trans-orange Starplayer in there, but I couldn't tell if that was a mid control or a pan control. Either way, the effect was more pronounced on this bass than it was on the D-Bass.

After tooing and froing about shipping with the seller who weren't hip to international options this baby finally arrived. It's certainly very purty and plays nicely unplugged in my office, even with roundwounds. Build quality looks first rate. The case is very deluxe, and all the case candy is there - allen keys, polishing cloth, unique style straplocks. Some flats will go on tonight for the ultimate test.
