DUNLOP SUPER BRIGHT NICKELS

I love these strings, so I bought a set for my new G&L LB-100.

Installed them tonight. “Stretch” them a bit as I always do to settle them… the D string snapped at the ball end. Gutted.

I had to order another set as I can’t find individual units of these strings.

What a waste. Think Dunlop would do something about that?

They likely will. I had an E string on a set of Dunlop stainless strings that had a really thuddy tone. I sent an email to customer service and I actually got a phone call within an hour from a manager (!) He apologized profusely, stated on occasion things like this can happen. He sent me two new complete sets to compensate me. Great customer service!

Just email Dunlop about your issue, they will send you a replacement string , or....... 10 set of new pack.

Installed Super Bright Nickels on my Lakland yesterday.

As has been stated many times, the name is incredibly misleading - These are definitely not "super bright". Other than that, first impressions are not bad. They have a very nice clarity in the top end, but still have a ton of low-end.

My only issue so far is with the B string (.125), which seems to have noticably less attack definition compared to the rest of the strings, (even for a B string).

Also, buyer beware: These strings were not long enough to string through the body on my 35" Lakland. Luckily I have the option of stringing through the bridge, which works for me.
