I tried messing around with the Witchfinder octave trimpot tonight. Mine was set right in the middle initially. I ended up setting it slightly higher than that, about 1 o'clock. The octave is slightly more pronounced, but there's still plenty of lows. I found the extreme settings in either direction were not really usable, although the maximum setting clockwise is pretty fun if you play it like a guitar octave fuzz, way up on the neck.

I didn't find as much of a change via the trim on the Witchfinder as I expected/hoped. Maybe my ears were off. I really needed someone to change the settings as I played. I could hear "something" changing with the range of external octave knob but I didn't feel full up octave was excessive with my rig (I was kinda hoping it was get into excessive territory). I believe I left mine full up.

The Cthulhu trim didn't do anything I'd consider radical. I opted to leave it in the 2/3rds up position it came set at.

I'll probably give it another shot, maybe with headphones and a looper. Speaking of which, my looper just died :(

Slamming the Longsword into the DA120 creates some syrupy grind... I'd almost forgot how good the DA120 is as a dirty pre @18v

The Elder God looks fun. I'm more than good on fuzz but the D.I.D designs w/ Nick are interesting, especially when it comes to the Slomatics

Finally received my 3 knob Cthulhu. This one is immediately much better than the first one. Still a wild beast like the original but at least you got something to work with to kinda tame it unlike the screechy 1 knob version. A very nice upgrade. I have to play around with where to place it as it didn't get along with some of the pedals I use early in my chain but when I clicked a few things off it really shined. A very mean fuzz. I like it.

For those of you with a Witchfinder from the last release. Do you hear a noticeable difference when switching the center toggle. I read the description on Magics website but I'm not noticing any difference in the sound of the fuzz. I have tried several knob and toggle combinations to no avail. Maybe thats just the design. What say Ye.

I hear a bit if a difference. It's not tremendous, but it's different.

I like my switches to the left, with the EQ points around 1:00ish, but treble slightly less than the mids, with bass matching or slightly more than mids. Gain anywhere from 9-10:00 or so depending, and volume as needed. Gives me a nice amount of dirt that works for most things. Not too heavy, but still articulate and with heft. I use it as my "light" drive on my 2nd board.

Interesting, the switches on mine go up and down rather than left to right. I'm liking the left switch in the middle (no clipping diodes, I believe, since this setting is much louder and cleaner than the others), right switch to the bottom (which I feel gives the most low end). I'm still figuring out the EQ, but I agree, setting the bass slightly more than the mids, and the treble slightly less seems to work well.

I REALLY like the ODB so far, especially at 18v. It has a wonderful crunchy mid presence without losing any low end.

Mine IS a clone, so the switches are likely oriented differently. I also prefer the setting with the most low end - and didn't find much difference between the middle and left switch for diodes. Of course, I don't have it dialed in for tons of dirt, so that's probably part of it.

Been late to the party, but the ODB (and Cthulhu 3-knob) arrived today. Only had a noodling time with the ODB, quite see how it could offer a nice option to the LS in my signal-chain. Really nice cutting mids and edge, cleaner tones with the left switch in the middle-position are in the same ballpark (imo) as the no-diodes LS position, and i do prefer ODB dirt tones. Great pedal !

Really enjoying what i'm hearing. Tested and tried the Cthulhu 3-knob, awesome fuzz on the meanest side of mean fuzz pedals. Parted with a few pedals this week-end, the Wizard Fuzz was on the 'verb'. Played direct through my amp, found it a bit too bass-heavy and somehow lacking something in the higher-end side of things. Don't know what i was thinking.

Gained some extra-space on my pedalboard yesterday to use the (awesome) ODB, freeing a bigger fuzz box spot as well. Cthulhu and Witchfinder were tested and they're glorious pedals. But a bit agressive for what we're playing. Wizard Fuzz it is ! Dig its solid lows and different textures, how nicely it pairs with my octaver and other pedals, and as it's 'low gain-ish' (compared with the Cthulhu at least ha!), it's super quiet ! And off the 'verb as well.
