DYN-O-MITE !

Love it!

Bass turned out awesome Andy, but again, that was to be expected coming from you! Your build inspired me and I ordered a very similar one from Scott at Grove Guitars, got the crate off e-bay. It's getting a Warmoth Tele neck in maple/rosewood, mahogany hollow body, with a single "F" hole, Schaller bridge and Seymour Duncan 1/4 pounder. Can't wait for it to get done! I'll post some pics once I get it.

Of course you MUST post pics when you get it! :)

DEFINITELY post pics !

Just to be 100% perfectly clear :

1) I don't build and sell basses for a living
2) the link that someone posted to Grove Guitars is definitely not me (I'm in Austin, they're in Ohio)

So while I enjoy and love building stuff, I don't build to order. I would guess that if you're in the market for something like the bass I built here, Grove would probably do a nice job - jbossolo mentioned that he ordered an instrument from them, so I'm sure he can report on quality when it arrives.

I appreciate the kind words and it is flattering to be asked to build something, but it's just not something I'm into doing.

Love y'all.....have a great day !

:bassist:

I love the "Tower of Dyn-o-mite" shot.

I'd take that bit of metal out of the body..the one sticking out, by the bridge...cause I'd end up cutting myself on it somehow.

Unless that's the "More Awesome" button. Then, leave that on.

Well, I planned on using some other parts on this bass - ordering a different pickup, neck, tuners, etc - but I just got a last second call to go out on a 6 week tour, so I was forced to finish this up with parts I had on hand. I threw in the lipstick pickup (which sounds great, BTW) and used a old Ibanez Roadstar neck (reshaped the headstock), etc, etc.... I have some touch ups to do, but it came out really cool I think.....
