Double Bass Dynamic Mic for Upright?

That's been my favorite dynamic mic for bass so far, but I sure wish my PR40s had that "concert black" finish!

Interesting placement. It looks like you're half way over the f hole, aimed between the f hole and bridge. Haven't tried that one... I've never been a big fan of the f hole placement in the past, but this might take some of the woof out.

I used Beyer M88 few times on concert…I think is an outstandig dynamic mic and works well on DB, thanks to super cardioid characteristic, noot too much drums bleed in….Sennheiser 421 could woks well too….

As a starting point I try to get the foot of the bridge by way of the F hole. For more clarity and wood, more bridge. More oof, more hole.

For recording, there are a lot of choices, but live with dynamic mic this works consistently for me in every situation so far...
