Double Bass EA Doubler - issue with high eq frequency

Hi!

I wonder if my ears are playing tricks on me, but I think I'm having an issue with my EA Doubler. It seems like the high eq knob really only affects a very tight, very high band that doesn't seem to add much to the character of the sound - it is more like a 'brilliance' knob. When A/B-ed with my Acoustic Image amp, the A.I.' high eq seems to be low enough to affect 'more' of the bass's output.

I had another set of ears verify what I was hearing. Are we both nuts, and/or is it possible to adjust the frequency the pot affects? Changing the HPF setting inside the unit won't have any impact on sounds of that frequency, right? Any help or ideas would be appreciated, thanks!

That could very well be by design. If the "attack" frequency of the treble control is high (say 5000 hz), it changes brilliance or "air" of the sound. A lower attack frequency (2000 hz) affects more the whole presence, high mids and up. If the signal has little content in the +5000hz area, for instance a Realist pickup, the difference will be barely audible. I have been unable to find a spec for the Doubler tone control online though.
And yes, the hpf affects the low end only (hopefully!)
