Actually Peter, He gave Ken Jung's post about the 500 and 800 a "+1" WITHOUT ever owning one. It is time that people finally call out those who comment on stuff they've never owned!

Well that stuff has been out of production for many years. The doubler and a pair of NL210s kill with electric bass in my opinion. My favorite cab in production for double bass is the wizzy 12m but the nl210 is pretty nice too.
At one point I owned an Iamp pro and doubler. I liked the headroom on the pro but always tried to dial in the doubler tone. So I've stuck with the doubler.
Excited to see what they come out with next.

I'm not sure why the Euphonic Audio Club thread should be a place where people who clearly don't like EA products hang out to repeatedly trash the brand. Not that threads like this should be a love fest, but let's be constructive.

I happen to be the proud owner of a Wizzy 12 M-line, a Doubler, and a Amp 800. Just got them and I'm very happy so far.
I wonder if the best 2nd cab would be the 2x10, a 1x10 or a 1x12? This is for electric bass playing classic rock mostly.

I wasn't commenting on the amp, just on the voicing of the cabinets.

worked better with Double Basses and passive 4 string PBass, then they did with a modern, active, 5 string instrument, at least that was my impression."
I own a pair VL 108's, a VL 110, and VL 208 and have played gigs with them.

The deep extended bass is in my opinion muuuuuuccccchhh less of a problem than the boomy one. I have never ever ever had any problems with my NL210 II with the driver retrofit. Just perfect every time, in any situation with the doubler.

Actually, I'm working a trade at the moment with another TB'er for a Wizzy 12, so I was kind of looking for confirmation!
That said, I recently had the chance to try out my friend's iAmp 800 + Wizzy 12 + NL210 III setup with a variety of basses (Sadowsky 5-string Ultra Vintage 70s J, Yamaha TRB 5 string PJ, Lakland Joe Osborn, 70s Fender P, 70s MusicMan Stingray, Rickenbacker 4001) and the rig sounded really great. We had a lot of fun doing that test!
I also had the pleasure of seeing Lee Sklar last weekend playing with Judith Owen in a small listening venue in Philly (the Tin Angel). What a treat that was! He was playing a Micro amp with a Wizzy 10 and it sounded big and rich. I was in the front row, with the PA speakers above me, so I heard both his amp and the PA if that makes sense. I'm interested in that little 10 as a possible companion to either the Wizzy 12 or the Wizzy 12 m-line.
A few years back there was a movement for us to release a new version of the VL208. We were going to make it happen ONLY if we had a enough preorders to make it feasible,as it would be 1 run only. Unfortunately only a handful of people showed any interest
I use an iAmp 350 into an Nl-210, it sounds amazing. I've tried many amps including the iAmp 800, and the 350 delivers the goods ! Just for fun this weekend I ran my Kern ip-777 into the 350 (bypassed the iAmps eq)- sounded killer !
