Double Bass EA Micro 300 PROBLEM

I`ve recently purchased Micro 300. As I live in Russia (220 VAC at 50 Hz), I`ve read manual carefully before use - it was clearly said there: 90 - 240 VAC, 50 - 60 Hz.

After I had turned it on there was some kind of buzz, I turned it off. And after few turn on`s *clap* sound have been heard - as a result power supply unit (transformer, condenser, etc) and some other parts are damaged.

So it appeared, that Micro 300 can not handle 220 volts.

But the most annoying thing about this situation is that I had written 2 letters to EA customer service, have been waiting for 4 days and still no response!

Is anybody here familiar with EA customer service? Do they usually have problems with receiving e-mails probably? Has anyone had problems with EA`s customer care?

Thanks.

EA has the reputation of having a great customer support and i can vote for that since i had a problem with my Wizzy 12 and they worked out things very well, instead of email you should give them a phone call, by experience i know that sometimes its not possible to answer all mails as fast as i would like to. just a question, on my EA iamp 500, on the back theres a switch to change the current from 110V to 220 V, did you change it? because if you didnt turn the switch to the 220 V, then you know the reason why the amp broke
good luck

Nuno

I checked, and EA was having trouble with email server issues. If you are still unable to reach them, private message me, or you may also wish to contact the company who sold you the unit.

We have had some problems with the 300 running at 220VAC. Can you make arrangements to return it? Where did you purchase the unit? Gary, EA, Inc."

I wrote back immediately. Today is november 11th. I wrote to [email protected] from my different e-mail account also. No response. What`s going on with them?

Yes, I can make arrangements to return it, so what?

Bob, what kind of problem "with e-mail issues" they`ve had, that you mentioned?

Thanks to all.

I understand that somebody who buys an amp expects it to work properly and it can be a bummer when things go wrong, but you should be a bit more patient, you wrote them on the 9th (friday) , so you should at least wait till monday(remember that if they'll write you monday in the morning, it will be evening in Russia), people can be busy and have a life of their own on weekends, thats why i suggested a phone call, it cant be so expensive to call the States and that way, you dont have to wait for emails, when i call them about my damaged wizzy, 5 mn were enough to settle everything straight. I dont know personally the EA headquarters, but i bet that being a small company, Gary or any other from EA cant be on the computer 12 hours a day . I work part time for a small company too (every morning monday to thursday) and sometimes people email me thursday afternoon and im just able to answer monday morning, i often check the emails during the weekends, but i have a life and sometimes i just dont. I cant understand how can somebody email a company friday and be mad if saturday or sunday they dont have an answer.
EA is a great company and i believe that they will take care of you , and keep in mind that i dont work for them or am affiliated in any way , in fact my boss owns 2 companies and one of them can be considered a EA "rival" since they also make bass amplification, but for personal experience dealing with them and from reading what others have said about EA customer support, im convinced that they are a great company.
sorry, just my $0.02

Nuno
