While you might keep it at a low volume, how do you persuade others in the band to do the same.![]()
This is the reason i carry ear plugs not for my playing but those around me. Its fair to say that if i work with a band after a few gigs i get to know where to stand for the best places during songs. So when drums bang, cymballs crash etc i am out of the way. But i have had a few good foldback bangs in my time from careless moniter engineers pushing the wrong button. Like i said its a one time chance why take the risk?

The one i prefer are the ones that take out the top end and have started using them more after a tip from a doctor. Where them for about 20 mins before you play and leave them in till you are finished for the night, your hearing will accomadate for them giving time, and when you start it is not really such a big leap in sound as your hearing is now accustomed to them.
