Early Birthday Present (Peavey Content)

It should look good if I can cut it right. Nothing like spending $30 on wafer thin veneer and destroying half with a badly placed cut.

I hope you like yours as well. Nothing like getting all hyped and then thinking, "Really? That's it?" Lots of snap and snarl in those pickups. If you like that, you'll be pleased.

yea man, i've had several NBD like that. usually with much more expensive basses though! :(

i've had peavey basses before and loved them so its my hope that this bass will be like coming home after a long stay on the road.

your pbass makes me think of a rootbeer float ;)

Mad...

Any plans to drop a preamp into it.. part of what keeps me from live gigging the passive ferrites are the lack of B and lack of preamp... nothing wrong...

Silly and honest thing.. when I gigged the globe for 5 years using only a single 4 string foundy --- never had a complaint or failure.

Would kind of be the hidden gem TL5 with some type of pre --- heck could be nicer.

i've had a t40 ad i'm just not a huge fan. solid playing bass and sounds great, but the ergonomics and weight just bother me.

Ditto..
I soooo wanted to love my T40 (extremley rare and special) --- quite sincerely may be the nicest one ever built... EXTREMELY low playing time because of your comments.

I'd venture to say mine was the highest selling price t40 I've seen -- great deal at the price.

well, i don't really use a B string much anymore, so that's really not a problem for me. i have 1 5er now (my first, its a peavey) that i'm currently "restoring" so if i need a 5er i'll have one.

also, not having a preamp doesn't bother me either. i really enjoy a passive bass. i've been thinking about getting a outboard preamp like a sansamp or sadowsky pre. i just don't care for an onboard preamp much...

oh yea, a t40 is a great bass, but its not for me. i wish the the t20 could've been a 2 pickup bass. i love the t20, i just like a J/J set up.
