Early Lotus p bass

Here is my early lotus p bass
I just finished crafting a tort pickguard for it the original is covered in coats of spray paint
Just wanted to show it off and hopefully get some info on it's possible age ? Are these the original knobs ? Etc? Or general info Japanese?

It sounds fantastic and plays great
Its a keeper .

How does that maxon pickup compare to the typical split coil "p bass" pickup?

I have passed the lotus on to the next lucky owner since this post ..
The maxon pickups are more if a crisp humbucking sound ... Crisp with the tone 100% big and boomy jazz sound with the tone rolled off ... Hard to explain ... But good
I have since built 2 basses with neck and bridge maxons and they are both very versatile]

I was always curious how they would sound compared to "stock" fender pickups, especially since they seemed to find their way into a lot of "lawsuit" instruments...

Yes it's a different animal
But great in it's own way !!!
