Eart basses???

Who knows?
Their being marketed at the same price point as the high-end Squires.
Are they just as good?.......better?
Noone on here seems to have bought one yet to give a review.
Most of the other Chinese stuff has been aimed at the rock bottom dollar market.
I'd have to try one. I've been playing Fender for 40 years now and have never called their warranty department or dealt with their customer service once.
I suppose their bass would have to really impress me to buy it vs one that said Squier on the headstock.

With the string over the logo on the basses, I thought it said "EARL".

But hey, this is funny and if I ever see one for cheap, I'm gonna buy it just to make it so:

They could be great basses, no one here seems to have tried them but at least their website says they have a 15 day return policy. They could very well be better than most basses. The actual components to a bass don't cost much so it is definitely possible to put an amazing instrument together at a low cost considering the cost of labour in China.

I live in Europe so the pricing is different.
- Farty McPbass roasted mahogany, roasted maple, rolled fret edges, 329 euros.
- Squier CV poplar body, indian laurel fretboard, 429 Euros.
Harley Benton basswood or poplar, amaranth fretboard, 100 - 120 euros.
Sire p5 alder body, roasted maple neck, rolled fret edges, 450 - 550 euros

I think a healthy dose of scepticism is in order. And the HB is way cheaper. But they only come in black and often need more than just a basic setup to be playable. And the body wood is not the most durable. And it doesn't say fart on the headstock wich in my opinion all basses deserve. "That Fart of yours has some serious low end". The coversations are endless. And let's not go into having a middy growl...
My experience with the CV is that the often need a lot of fret work, I cut myself more than once playing on them in stores. The glossy finish also needs a lot of scotch brite And the neck is a little too chunky. So to me paying for a Fender Player is worth it in comparison.
My somewhat naive hope is that I could get a high quality body and neck with good finish right away. Thst way I would only have to upgrade it with a killer pickup and if needed better electronics. And if the tuners and bridge are ok then I am under the cost of a CV.
The resell value will of course be crap but that is most often the case for non high end basses.
I might take a chance actually. Take one for the team! I am very sensitive to group pressure so if two or more say I should buy it then I have to, right?

This review has some of the cheapest basses available, including the lowest cost Harley Benton:

I purchased a HB PB-20 BK as my first bass. The quality it pretty good, and at €99, I invested another €50 in a professional setup and have a perfect beginner bass for less than half the cost of the Squier, Eart etc...

I have an Eart guitar (I have heard that is the guy's name, but I haven't seen anything to confirm that). The fret ends are like no other guitar. The finish quality of mine is on par with any mass produced guitar. The materials may not be, but they aren't garbage either. From my limited experience with them, they make quality instruments. My Strat copy was $200 on sale, so even if it was a dud I wouldn't have been out much.

I am not a snob when it comes to gear. Whether it is good or not has nothing to do with the price for me. That being said, their basses are considerably more expensive. I'm not sure I would pull the trigger on one of the basses at those prices without having encountered one first.

several experts have pointed out (in several threads) that the chinese are good at following directions and manufacturing at all levels of the global marketplace...more cheaply than just about anywhere else.. think: how much more would you pay for your iphone if it wasn't manufactured in china?

Most of the other Chinese stuff has been aimed at the rock bottom dollar market.
right, e.g., the glarrys/others.
I love all these people being all dismissive about these instruments… and they haven’t even played them!
no kidding! what's with that?
So does this.
not the same --- unfair comparison! one is a fake, the other is a brand. but to @Smooth_bass88's point: have you played the fake?
