Eart basses???

I have an Eart guitar (I have heard that is the guy's name, but I haven't seen anything to confirm that). The fret ends are like no other guitar. The finish quality of mine is on par with any mass produced guitar. The materials may not be, but they aren't garbage either. From my limited experience with them, they make quality instruments. My Strat copy was $200 on sale, so even if it was a dud I wouldn't have been out much.

I am not a snob when it comes to gear. Whether it is good or not has nothing to do with the price for me. That being said, their basses are considerably more expensive. I'm not sure I would pull the trigger on one of the basses at those prices without having encountered one first.

I have heard good things and bad things about Eart (mostly on Youtube channels). Most of the "bad" ones were somewhat old. So maybe they adjusted their products according to the criticism? If so, good on them.

It seems Eart's USP / market differentiator is to the sell guitars already with the frets and fretboard rounded. Ok. Sure. Why not? But like I wrote above, having the frets polished and rounded, plus rounding the edges on the fret board by a luthier will not cost much at all. So I would not buy an Eart based solely on the fretboard.

Cannot speak to the basses, but the guitar quality is easily on par with many $400+ guitars. Nobody rounds the frets the way they do, it would need to be a machine to get that finish (in fact, they are rounded before they are installed). They are also stainless frets.
So to get the same thing from a major name would be like getting a $400-500 guitar, then getting a re-fret, and having the fret ends rounded. I got that for $200.
