And what a comparison. JJ has a CARLO double P. I was able to play it and JJ’s fret work reflects the quality workmanship that the Carlo has.

No problem bruh! Can’t overstate the quality of your fret work and set ups. Looks of a bass are nice, SOUND is extremely important as well, but if it doesn’t play well then the instrument IMHO, won’t get played as much as one that does!
Hello Josh and Welcome from Morristown (Motown). In addition to being in a geezer band (pretty much inactive) I play bass at Trinity Global Methodist church in Motown every Sunday. I own in the neighborhood of 16 basses, all five string except for one P bass. My Peavey Dynabass 5 lives at the church.
Quiet again on ETTB. Let's wake it back up. What's everyone got coming going into the holidays and New Year's?

I am going to sell my NS Design WAV EUB. I wanted to post about it here first in case any of you are interested in an EUB. I've had it some nine years but never took it out to play it, so I'd like one of you to have it. I don't want to ship it.

Band has had some downtime due to a member going through some medical issues, but he’s back now and doing well. We had a rehearsal this past Sunday and still working out the bugs with our digital mixer and IEM’s but it was good to make music again. I’ve been taking advantage of the downtime to do some maintenance to both of my Kubicki five strings. I removed the strings, lubed the tuner worm gears, oiled the fretboard, installed new strings, adjusted the truss rod and set the action and intonation on each of them. The black one now has DR Nickel LoRiders (my strings of choice) and the red one has LaBella Low Tension Flats on it. This was my first time using the LTF and so far, I love them. Seriously considering ordering another set for my P5.

Good on everything in your report except the IEMs. Alas, I will never be a fan of IEMs and headphones for live performance, but I realize most players' bands are going that route nowadays. Ultimately, it's probably better, but after 53 years of playing amplified, I just can't get into ampless stages. Glad you guys are learning how to make it work for you.
Would you post a link to your band site again? Are you still calling yourselves The Lost Creek Shakers? You've been with those boys awhile!

Its been quite a while, since I said hello. Been playing, with Ryan Norton, as part of The Salty Moondogs. Its kind of a jam-band sensibility. I've also opened back up the shop. After going down a long, arduous path, after being let go, from my day job. Next, its all bass, all of the time! Its great to back on here!!

At this point in my 'retirement' in East Tennessee (Cumberland Gap), I am wanting to do some things that I had put off for years. One of those things is to go see live bands again.
Growing up in the Detroit Metro area, visits to Cobo Hall, or Pine Knob, were common. While I was attending the University of Kentucky, I would frequently see bands at Rupp Arena. After settling down and focusing on my family and career, that part of my life was put on hold.
As a side note, I think the last shows I've seen were BTO (with Tim; no Randy, Robin or Fred) in the early 90's, a couple of ICHTHUS festivals in the early 2000's with my kids, and a Winter Jam around 2010 with my kids.
Note: There seems to be some activity near to my location, but they are mostly of the Country Music genre, of which I am not a fan.
Anyways, my questions are:
Where are live band venues within, let's say a one hour to 90 minute drive, from Cumberland Gap?
And, is anyone in the East Tennessee Talkbass group scheduled to play at any of these venues in the near future?

Geezer, I did a list last year of every place I could think of that I'd seen evidence that they were hosting live music. Here's a link back to it.
My list was primarily the Knoxville area. I do know of a couple places in Oak Ridge that are doing live music. Lincoln's, Crafter's Brew.
I don't know how active it is now, but several years ago, there was a pretty active live music scene on the Norris Lake marinas in season. Bubba Brews did a a lot last year. Shanghai, several others off Hwy 63 going toward LaFollette. @Jeff Roller was playing quite a few of those.

Hey Michael! I also picked up a Sansamp BDDI V2. Haven’t been able to try it with the iems yet, I’ve just been using the direct out on my Mesa Walkabout. Unfortunately, the DI there is post gain so can’t get the amp from bleeding through the mics. I’ll give it a shot at the next rehearsal. And I did get a set of the LaBella Low Tension Flats and installed them on my P5. Those that know me know this is a big change for me as the P5 has been my number one since I bought it and I’ve always kept DR Nickel LoRiders on it. I do have a couple of new sets ofLoRiders on hand in case the LTFs don’t work in the band setting.
The band just has a FB page, mostly inactive, as we are. Just search FB for “The Lost Creek Shakers” or hit the link in my signature.
