Is that one of those old DiMarzio mudbucker repacements?
How does it sound?
I always wondered about those.
Yup, it's a Model One, but not so old.
Sounds just huge and thick, but suprisingly useable, I expected much more mud, but I really dig it.

Geezer did it first on a ric.
Truth. If you're not modding a vintage or limited-edition one, there's no reason not to drop in a mudbucker - especially because the larger hole could easily be covered by a stock pickguard. Rics are just assembly-line instruments, nothing any more special about them than a P-Bass. Plus mudbuckers rule.Basses are made for toying with. If you wanna do it, do it! That one up there looks beautiful. Bet she sounded nice too, when she was playable.
All of those old Gibbys sound like a mud-fart to me.
It was jetglo he had it late 70's early 80's. It was up on ebay a few years ago pretty beat up as I recall. When did he have a Ric with an EB pickup?
Dont do it. Your Rick is an investment. You do irriversable mods to it, you WILL lose money.
One thing:
An EB0 pickup (at original strength) has a considerably stronger signal than the Rick pickup(s).
If you're running stereo you can adjust your levels separately - no problem.
But running mono, it might be weird. You do have your Rick's volume pots ... but I'd ask around and try to find someone who can comment on the blend.
It seems like it would weaken the bass near the neck.

Well guys...I went ahead with it. I must say the bass sounds and looks so much better with the EB0 pickup (to me anyway). And aside from the resale value, there really isn't a down side. I'll try to get some pics up of it later
