Ebay Surprise

Last week I bought a Squire Affinity J Bass for 60 bucks on Ebay. I was wanting to use it as an experiment in removing the frets and doing a bunch of mods to the electronics. Basically, I was buying an inexpensive project that I could tear up and not feel TOO bad about it.

Today it was delivered and when I opened it up, the frets had already been removed!!!! You couldn't tell from the pictures and I never thought to ask if it had frets....LOL. Anyways, the bass plays pretty well...I just need to fill in the spaces where the frets were.

I love it when a plan comes together ...

I'm glad the lack of info in the auction wound up being a benefit to you. I've been on the lookout for a very similar situation. Cheap bass to pull the frets out of. I just can't bring myself to work on or own another fender or fender-esque body style. So squiers and the like are out. Keeping an eye out for an epiphone or similar
