Ebay YBA Toast?

Cruising ebay, I found this Traynor YBA-2. Is this amp now toast? Shouldn't there be a load on it if your are going to power it up?

There should be a load, and it is quite evident that there isn't. Is it toast? I couldn't say for sure. I do know that it's not good for that amp.

You're not going to kill a tube amp by turning it on without a load.

Not uncommon for people to power up amps unloaded prior to salem most people don't appreciate the loading requirements. I think if you aren't ragging signal through them unloaded they generally are fine, because about ever old amp I've ever bough has had this done to it, and they generally work after a fashion.

Thats what I mean... but the light showing RED- IME - on YBA 200's USUALLY means it's ON full- not standby?!?!? Thats what mine does anyway- Jewel light is orange on Standby, then changes to red when standby is turned off-reay to play. Hope there's a lead we can't see....

if there's no signal running thru it (and there obviously isn't), i seriously doubt that it would do it any harm.

Tube amps do not like being on without a load.

The speaker out jack shorts the output when nothing is inserted into the jack. The amp will be safe.

Oggdawg you can most certainly kill a tube amp without a load connected.
