EBMM BFR has done it again!

I was drooling over the 5 string version the day before I saw this post. I was hoping the post would generate enough interest for the one I liked best to be sold and I would be done with this GAS attacks. To no avail… I bought it today.

I had a similar 4 string a few years ago and liked it except that it was a 4. I’m hoping this one fills a specific need and I believe it will.

I think EBMM Fretless 5’s are some of the best ever made. Mine gets played daily.

Well... it is everything I thought it would be. Since another has sold, I guess there are 2 of us running around with one of these beauties. It sounds great, the pre is warm and "blooms" under the fretless. The heavy fretboard finish might convince me to try rounds on a fretless again, but right now it has LaBella LTF's and they are really nice. It is a wonderful instrument and a good value for fretless players that want a little something extra. I only have the Sweetwater photos, so I will skip that part.

According to my guy at Sweetwater there’s actually 3 in the physical realm.

Number 4 will be revealing itself fairly soon…

When I had my Pedulla Pentabuzz I ran through a myriad of strings. Rounds, tapes, flats… rounds were by far the most expressive and provided an incredible tone in part because of the glossed fingerboard. I liked D’Addario tapewounds on that bass quite a lot too. But ultimately the plastic Mike used for the lines kept raising and making “frets” on the surface. I’d had enough.

I don’t think anyone would be upset if you posted some of those pictures… well I won’t speak for everyone but, it’d shiver my timber’s
