In fact, I remember the first time I got a USA SUB, I was very impressed by EBMM quality of necks and fretting (it was my first EBMM). I've never been able to get such a nice consistent action before it, and my next Stingrays did it just as great. I don't know how the new ones compare to the old ones in that regard, I haven't tried a Special.

It might settle down but if it doesn't, ultimately it'll bother you and you will want to move on to the next bass (I know I wouldn't settle for that). Are you able to replace it?

Honestly, I like the bass so much otherwise that I am willing to put up with some buzz as long as it doesn't get too bad. I am just worried that my neck might be a lemon, which would be a real drag. I am not sure what I would do at that point.

I made a last ditch effort with mine on the weekend. Put some more relief in it, raised the saddles. Ugly loud fret rattle all the way up and down the E and A, and sporadic on the other 2 strings, with action just on the high side of uncomfortable. Just terrible. I'm still looking for my way out of this thing. It's been in the shop twice, and worked on including shaving the last 2-3 frets due to 'a small ramp'. On a brand new (Nov) $3K CDN bass? I don't think so.

Mine is kind of the same but is playable with a nice action. If mine were that bad, I'd call ebmm and raise hell.

Mine is currently wearing this black pickguard, but I have a black copper sparkle one supposedly arriving today.

Man, sorry to hear you are having so many issues, mine are not drastic. In fact, it seems like the fret buzz comes and goes, maybe dependent on the weather(?). I too would pitch a bitch with MM if I were you.... they need to make the bass right. You shelled out a lot of dough and should be enjoying your new bass!
