EB should put mutes on the new bridge on a Special. I would love that...
Tried those and it's not perfect. You can not palm mute with them. I like mutes to be under the strings.
Also, old EB style mutes would look "original" on a Special

Good to know because I need palm mute ability at times to. Let me know if you find something that works good for you please.
I just use the old stick a piece of foam under the strings technique. Having used to have an Old Smoothie with the EB bridge mutes, I prefer the foam anyways. Foam provides more options since you can move it around and use different thicknesses and widths of foam and is just as easy to put in and remove compared to having to turn those little screws.

Yeah, the only thing that the bridge mutes have the advantage over the foam to me is that the bridge mutes look nice and clean, and you can't forget to bring them to a gig like you can a piece of foam.
That, and the ability to mute individual strings… which I never actually did in live settings LOL!
As soon as I can I have to go to Lowe’s because kitchen sponges just dry out on me I need the good foam. Whatever that is . A nice purple sparkle would be great. Any suggestions ?
