Definitely post a pic when you can. I’m interested in how it looks.I ordered the aged pearl. I will post an updated pic once I get it on there.

I’ve played H’s for yrs.I’m on the verge of joining this club. I’ve had my Sterling by MM for quite some time now and I’m ready to drop some coin on a proper MM. I appreciate all the posts to this point, it’s made for some great reading the past few days!
Thinking of going for a 4H or HH (that is the question) in Aqua Sparkle even though a buddy says it looks like a bowling ball. I tend to think I want to be a purist and go H but then the other side of me says “live a little” and go HH. Either way, I’ll enjoy reading and will post up when I’m truly in the club...by the way, is that when I pay for it or actually receive it?![]()

HH definitely. No point in limiting yourselfI’m on the verge of joining this club. I’ve had my Sterling by MM for quite some time now and I’m ready to drop some coin on a proper MM. I appreciate all the posts to this point, it’s made for some great reading the past few days!

I think it’s really the pinnacle of what’s possible with the Stingray platformI’ve played H’s for yrs.
Bought a charcoal sparkle 5 HH
and it is now my favorite. The 5 tonal positions give more options
In the Jazz Bass and P bass realm
While retaining some stingray growl in the first position.
I’be always wanted more than just the “Stingray tone.
The specials are a new animal and the best MM basses ever.
HH definitely. No point in limiting yourself

8lb 3oz Burnt Apple 4HH now availalbe at Sweetwater.
Do I like Burt Apple more? IDK but I do like that maple neck.
ETA: The AS I "bought" just got in as well. Should have pics of it around the time it ships. Not as light as the BA I posted above at 8lbs 13oz but should be okay.
That link seems to go to a 9+ pounder? I saw a different one, vintage tobacco I think, at 8.3. No matter, they’re all good.
Agreed.I opted to go the route of the purist (but by no means elitist! nothing at all against the HHers! maybe I should say "traditionalist"?) so got a 4H in Classic Natural. I think of it as the best of worlds of vintage style and the modern electronics. I have found that the new preamp is so incredibly versatile that you can sculpt just about whatever sound you want out of just that one pickup. There's plenty of P-style thump to be had (I have found) by bumping the low-mids on the amp and cutting the treble a tiny bit on the bass, or J-style bark by keeping the treble in and pulling the mids back a literal hair. No need to think of the single H as limiting with the preamp as responsive as it is. Hope that helps in the quest!
Doesn’t get much better than Aqua Sparkle!! Yay!!Picture of the bass I bought from Sweetwater, as provided by them. Should be here Friday afternoon!
