These colors are all really nice. I don't think there's a dud among them. It's got me very excited about the coming "Custom Design Experience"
Kiwi green and brulee are the big winners for me. I like grape crush too but would have preferred an ebony board. Candyman is also looking slick as hell
Now that you mention it thats a great point.. usually they pair the black hardware with an ebony board to make it match, definately would have been nicer with one here.

Once these new colors start shipping, I've got to think that the price of NoS 2023 pastel SR's will instantly come down in price.
I got my Aqua Sparkle 5H as a NOS display model for a steal a few years ago. But I don't think it's guaranteed, depends on the shop and how long the bass has been sitting.
I'm surprised I'm not wowed by the Brulee, it looks like something I'd like but ... not quite.
However, the Ocean Sparkle, Genius Gold, Pacific Blue Burst, and especially the Purple Sunset ... WOW.
Even a few others look really good to me, especially if they could have some minor tweaks:
- Candy Man - I'd prefer a black pickup cover on that bass instead of white, but I really like that red. Now, put a white pickguard on it, or even white pearl, and keep the white pickup cover and that would raise its score considerably with me.
- Hot Honey - I can't believe that I, tort fan that I am, is saying this, but I think a black pickguard would look better than the tort on that particular bass.

Last years colors seem like they were actually an effort to keep people from buying them. Seems they are ready to build some basses this year...
Even if they were to drop down to $1000 I still wouldn't buy one. That's how much I disliked those colors. Thank goodness for the 2024 colors.
I’m really surprised so many here disliked the pastels. They weren’t my favorite finishes Ernie ball has ever done but I like all of the pastels more than purple sunset or grape crush.
I don't think people really hate pastels, it's likely more that people wanted more than ONLY pastels. If they had done a pastel or 2 with the current options that were just announced I don't think anyone would complain.
I was surprised how bad the pastels were. But I saw some other photos of them that looked better than I initially thought.

That's a great looking bass. Kinda reminds me of the firemist purple from a few years back but better.
My thoughts exactly. I always wanted a firemist purple SR when they came out.
I got to sell some basses before buying anything though!
Pastels, sure if it is 1963 and you play for The Ventures or a surf revival.
There is a Grace Slick lyric, " White shirts and ties, wedding rings, wedding rings, there's so many of you". It was a rebellion to 50's norms.
I think pastels are "safe" and non rebellious... But, to each his own.
